Autocomplete v1, Creating a custom renderer with Vanilla JS?

I was looking into upgrading from v0 to v1 of the Autocomplete library. In v0 we have a custom form wrapping the Autocomplete input. It looks like in the updated v1 API, Algolia build the form for you. I don’t see an easy way to “hook” into the build process of that form. I was considering using the core (@algolia/autocomplete-core) package to build a custom renderer to manage the form build. However all the examples in the Algolia docs shows building a custom renderer with React, which we’re not using. Has anyone built this in Vanilla JS, or can that even be done? Any links to existing online examples or info would be appreciated.
