CFP Open: Hackference 2017

Hackference is an annual conference + hackathon held in Birmingham, UK organized by Mike Elsmore (who goes by @mike on the forum here). This year it’s set for October 20-22. I went last year and had a great time. Lots of amazing speakers but small enough to really get to know people and learn something.

The CFP is open now and you have lots of room to be creative: “We’re looking for talks that introduce us to new and fun things that we can hack with.” @mike if you want to chime in - any tech on the radar you might want to see on stage?

Algolia offered a prize for best search hack last year. This is me (far right) with the team that won, looking surprisingly fresh in this photo despite staying up all night to code :computer:  (them, not me, I caved and actually got sleep)

Side note: @pandelis (far left) is organizing a student hackathon called Bullhacks next month also in Birmingham, a part of Major League Hacking’s packed EU 2017 season.

Oh hey that’s me :stuck_out_tongue: Hackference brings together such an amazing community of people to Birmingham. Great to see it’s back for another year.

I just go to come up with an interesting talk idea!

I like that. 1 day conf + 2 days hack  great idea.
I have to give a try. And why not submit a talk  should be fun.

Whoops, just checked the forum for the first time in a while. That’s an awesome photo of @dzello & @pandelis. Yeah, the CFP is open and we want to hear about everything from Browser hackery to languages long lost and technology that’s shiny! The CFP is open for another month at https://www.papercall.io/hackference-2017 but if you want to get a cheap ticket they’re finishing soon at https://tickets.hackference.co.uk
