Last weekend Marion, @Jerska and me went to Bordeaux to assist in a student organised hackathon, Hack Bordeaux
We organised a workshop on getting started with Algolia, where a wine dataset has been used. Feel free to take a look at the final website at wine-search.now.sh.
Don't hesitate to retry the workshop, it's available in node, and in Ruby on Rails on GitHub.com/algolia/hack-bdx
We didn't just give a workshop and then left them to their own, we were also available for questions the whole 24 hours, which was awesome, and gave us even more knowledge in what you can do with Algolia and with programming in general. Keep staying creative everyone!
- to everyone that joined the hackathon
- to everyone that helped organising this great hackathon
- to everyone that used Algolia
And in particular to the team that won our prize:
They made an aggregator for food delivery services in Bordeaux and made a great frontend using Angular and Algolia.
As well as a special mention for our second place prize:
They made a service where you can reserve a username, which is then kept in a blockchain, as well as in an Algolia index, so you can find anyone's alias very fast.
see you next time!
