How to inject random portion of newly-added records into primary search results?

Client is wanting to inject newly added records/products at random on the first 2 pages of results. For instance if they add 80 new products, is it possible to inject 8 at random on page 1 and 2 in predetermined slots?

Hi Barnett! It’s possible to inject records using query rules. We have a solution, the guide isn’t complete, but you can get a good idea of how it would work by taking a look at the demo: https://algolia.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PK/pages/1370489151/IN+PROGRESS+Content+Injection+in+Results+With+Query+Rules

Hi @tobi.weinstock thank you for this info. I can’t tell from the guide—the client is wanting to inject a random selection of recently added records and not a pre-determined set. Is this possible?

For instance: inject 8 random records out of the 80 most recently added records.
