[Magento x Algolia] Feedback on our Instant Search v4 update

Dear Magento users,

Listening to the requests of our current Magento customers, we upgraded the frontend code we bundle with our extension, in order to provide the latest features and improvements from the InstantSearch v4 widgets. Before we release it, we want to give a preview to our users and get some feedback to ensure we’re helping them in implementing new websites or upgrading existing ones.

Since the v2 version, InstantSearch improved a lot, including:

  • The ability to use the official JavaScript client 2 or a custom one that fits your needs
  • Predictable DOM structure
  • Federated Search
  • Library size reduction

We’d love if you could try this release during the next two weeks and share your input. We’ve made this version available in a live website and in a public preview-isv4 Github branch.

For the later, depending on how you customize Algolia for Magento, you may have extra steps, listed at the end of this post [1].

All your feedback will be appreciated, and we’d love if you could send through this anonymous Google Form.

Many thanks in advance,

– The Algolia team,

  • If you have modified the extension’s JavaScript code but do not rely on the JS hooks API, you’ll have to:
