Running site wide search and filtered blog post search on the same index?

I am using Algolia with a Jekyll site. I currently have site wide search set up and it is working perfectly. However, the site has a blog section with lots of articles and I would like users to be able to search ONLY blog articles from the blog search box.

I found information on setting up facet filters but I am not sure how to implement it and have the filter only applied to one search box instead of the entire index??

Hi Cat,

Once you have set the filter on the post type, you will have to add some query parameter on the dedicated page.

If you use InstantSearch.js, this can be done during initialization with the searchParameters key. You could set it to a variable based on the dom for instance, and have something like data-parameters="..." in your searchbox tag.

Does that answer your question?
