I have been working with a developer to create WhereNext Experiences - a travel marketplace for adventure and volunteer experiences. The site is at: https://www.wherenext.to/
The tech stack is:
Vercel / Next.js
Algolia
Mapbox
Cloudinary
The next phase is to add user authentication (with Clerk) and then integrate with OpenAi for some automatic content generation.
Any suggestions on our search UX would be appreciated. Let me know if you have any questions.
Nice UI! I particularly like the capsules for the various filters at the top.
I noticed lots of searches are “No result” – for instance “rhino” or “Nigeria” with the Experiences filter in place.
I would say next step would be to think about how to help your customers that are ending up on a “No results” page. This could mean add query suggestions or reminding users to clear their filters or adding a few “trending” items on the No Results page.
Thanks for the feedback Chuck. It maybe better for us to default the filter to ALL to help users find what they are looking for. I will review the options you suggested - thanks for that. We also have an advanced search at: WhereNext | Find Your Next Travel Experience and a map search: Explore Travel Destinations with WhereNext that we will be improving over time.
