Yearly discount calculations

I’ve been thinking about Algolia for a while and recently I noticed that on your front page it says there is a 25% discount for prepaying for one year. However when I look at the price differences between the monthly plans and the yearly plans I see the following:

Starter
Monthly: $59
Yearly: $49
Difference: $10
Discount %: $10 / $59 = 16.9%
Actual price required to equal 25% discount: $44 / month
Difference from displayed yearly price: $5 / month

Growth
Monthly: $299
Yearly: $249
Difference: $50
Discount %: $50 / $299 = 16.7%
Actual price required to equal 25% discount: $224 / month
Difference from displayed yearly price: $25 / month

Pro
Monthly: $999
Yearly: $899
Difference: $100
Discount %: $100 / $999 = 10%
Actual price required to equal 25% discount: $749 / month
Difference from displayed yearly price: $150 / month

Are the differences calculated above refunded to customers at some point? Are the displayed yearly prices just too high?

Thank you so much for opening that topic and reporting this issue! That’s indeed a mix up on our end.
The pricing are correct but mentioning a 25% discount is not - we’ll remove that mention asap.

I’d love to send you some swag for catching this one - feel free to fill out this form and we’ll send something your way!
